Fairy rhymes are lots of fun,
for you and me and everyone!

There are lots of rhymes and poems in Pixie Tricks. You can make a pixie poem, too! Write a pixie poem about one of the Pixie Tricks pixies, or make up a pixie poem of your own. We know that many of you like to write stories, too, so we will also post your short story about pixies.

Every few months, Tracey West will put the best rhymes and stories on the website. At least one winner will get a special pocket pixie doll handmade by Tracey! Thanks to everyone who submitted their poems! The winning poems this month are Abigail S., Jess, and Blaze.

Email your poetry submissions to webmaster@pixietricks.com. Be sure to give your poem a title, and include at least your first name with the email. The next batch of poems should go up on the site in the summer of 2004.

I once lived next door to a Pixie
In my grandma’s big forest-like garden
“Let’s go and play!” she said one day
And so I replied “Sure! Okay!”

On the way through a tunnel made by a giant mole
We met a troll
Carrying an electric guitar
You’ll never guess what he said
He said, “Come on girls, let’s rock n’ roll!”

And so we continued
One of us playing an electrical guitar
One of us playing a pixie-sized harp
One of us playing a flute

Walking through the woods
I see
Little fairies dancing near a tree
And others swimming in the stream
I can't believe this
It must be a dream

I tiptoe closer
Just to see
What they’re doing

So as I got closer
Close enough to see
I stepped on branch
From a tree

The noise was loud
All the fairies stopped
And turned around
To look at me

Before I could say anything
The fairies were gone
And everything from their little town
All the mushroom houses
All the fairy dust
All the music
Which I loved so much

Then I opened my eyes
And looked around my room

I heard my mother's voice
Calling, "Jess you'll miss the bus!!
Wake up you must!!”

The days past by the wee simple hour
Going by so slow I feel so alone
An old friend comes to tap on the window
He sings of a song that so little know
He holds my hand as I drift into slumber
I wake up in a world surrounded by sparkling lights
As small little pixies light up my night
Nor alone nor sorry do I feel no more
To listen to the song that I so adore
Again and again I repeated the night
The glorious pixies broke my light

THE ONE

You don't find magic behind a doorway
You find the magic in your heart
It takes a special heart to see a pixie
A world filled of light most desire
A world of hope a pixie brings
The secret lies in the monster’s heart
The night so dark and lonely
There you find the pixie wings the ones that bring light
I find them in the monster they turned into harmless
They flee before my sight the beauties
After they do good
I the one and only the pixies feel the night

by Blaze, age 12

I WISH I WERE A PIXIE

I wish I could flutter.
I wish I could fly.
I wish I could fly in the bright moonlit sky.
I think you are beautiful with your wings shining bright.
If I could see you wouldn’t that be a sight.
Your suit’s made of leather your wings made of magic.
Isn’t it tragic how I can’t see the magic?
I know it’s impossible, but if it were true, I would love to be a pixie just like you.
I believe in you!

FAIRY WORLD

This place is hidden under an old oak tree
the fairies here are truly free.
Unlike a castle in a different place,
this world is a whole different case!
Once this place was where evil struck,
But the fairies here were full of luck,
they took down the evil one by one,
until you knew the could have never won.
The evil left and now the fairies are free
Do you believe this all happened under an old oak tree?

THE CASTLE

Oh traveler I am afraid for you
For in this castle you are doomed!
This place is where evil struck long ago
and its ugliness still does show
The walls of this castle are enchanted but worse,
the walls of this castle are truly cursed
Oh traveler please beware,
For this is evil’s dirty lair!

THE WINTER FAIRY

One cold winter day,
I went outside to play.
I put on my skates,
To go out to the lake.
It soon began to snow,
The wind began to blow.
I got lost in the storm,
The lake lost its form.
I wanted to get home,
I wandered and I roamed.
I looked up in the sky,
And saw something fly by.
It twinkled as it flew,
And suddenly I knew.
I was the Winter Fairy,
It wasn't at all scary.
It guided me to mom and dad,
I was happy, not at all sad.
Winter Fairy, I know you're true,
And I'll always believe in you.

MARY

There once was a small, little Fairy,
She was cute and her first name was Mary.
She had nice, sparkling wings,
She granted wishes and things.
The problem was Mary was HAIRY!

A FAIRY'S LIFE

A Fairy's life could be so grand,
Just living in an open land.
How they flitter their wings,
And grant wishes and things.
How peaceful a Fairy's life could be,
Oh, how I wish that was me.

WHERE THE PIXIES LIVE

There is another world where the pixies live,
where pixies of all shapes and sizes go,
they eat donuts that are full of dough,
even though all of them know
that they can sleep,
all they want to do is eat, eat, eat.

Some of the pixies like to play with their friends,
they like to go out and and walk on trails all the
way to the end,
but when they get home they are worn out,
and they get in bed and dream about
all of the things they are going to do the next day,
and in their sleep all they say
is, "I can't wonder what Queen Mab did today."

DO YOU HAVE PIXIE TRICKING FEVER?

Do you have a fever,
A very special kind,
A pixie tricking fever,
I do you'll find,
My whole world is pixies,
More than you'll ever know,
Some people might think it's crazy,
But I don't think so,
you'll know you have it,
When all you can think about,
Is pixies everywhere you go,
So when you find yourself day dreaming
in that very special way,
You know you have the pixie tricking fever,
And have yourself a magical Day!

FAIRIES SO SWEET

Fairies are so sweet!
They’re just like a sweet treat!
They fly to the sky,
Just like a dainty butterfly,
but how I love them so,
all I know
Is that they are as
sweet as that treat!

A FAIRY IN FLIGHT

A fairy in flight is a beautiful sight.
On silver wings they take flight.
They are more graceful than a fluttering kite.
If you wish upon her flight,
Your wish may come true at midnight.

HIDING

Up in the sky
I see fairies flying by
When I look in a tree
I said “What could it be?”

But I knew it was a fairy.

FAIREEY SONGS

A little faireey has a song,
A song that's sung,
That's sung all along.

A faireey has a simple mind,
That does play tricks,
hat we will not find.

A faireey sees all below,
It sees you,
It sees the snow.

A faireey sings it's simple song,
About it's tricks,
And weather all along.

FUN WITH AQUAMARINA!

Something swimming through the water. You don't know what it is.
It is shiny like a big blue fish!
All of a sudden you see, seaweed! At least it looks like seaweed!
Then you see a pointy ear, then arms, then legs!
Now you see none other than Aquamarina!!

You see her and she sees you!! You know you’er in great danger.
But it's too late, you look her in the eye.
And you're a fish!!!!!
You begin to have more fun with Aquamarina.

Then you wake up and realize - it was a big DREAM!!

One day I saw an elf,
She reminded me of myself,
When I was young I played soccer,
Even had my very own locker.
Scoring, get a kick.

Then that day I saw her sick,
Lying in bed moaning and foam in her mouth . . .
But then she quietly said,
“I have to move south.”

I didn’t understand!
Then she said,
"I’m moving to a new land!"

She was ready to go,
When I saw something glow,
A smile on her face that said hello.
She flew to me,
I could hardly see.
With tears in my eyes,

We said our good-byes.
One day I awoke with a surprise,
With tears in Mom’s eyes.
“We have to go,” she said as she rushed.
I knew it was bad cause my Mom looked crushed.

But where I cried.
To the place where that elf died.
I was full of sorrow . . .
But I cried like there was no tomorrow.
We said our very last good-bye,
Then I began to sigh.

But then I heard a voice from my shelf.
Guess what! It was that elf . . .
The one who reminded me of myself.

WHAT PIXIES DO!

They flip and they flop they swing and they swap
And they barely ever talk. They sing and they sometimes
Sing ping. They have fun they play in the sun.
They sleep on leaves that are on the trees.
They eat plants off the ground when they eat they make a lovely sound.
Yes this is what Pixies do and I know it is true.

by Laura M., age 9

PIXIES ARE EVERYWHERE

pixies are everywhere ya know, they can be high or low.
pixies can have a smile or a frown, they can fly right or upside down.
some swim, some walk, most can talk but some can not.
so if you’re outside one day and you spot a pixie, don't forget to say hey.

by Lisa H., age 11, Michigan

I was sitting by my window sill, Glaring at the stars, when two
flickering lights showed up at my door. I peered out my window and said
"Hey who is that?"
The flickering lights came up to see me, and sat down on my ledge. I sat there glaring at the light, when it stood up and said, "Come with us, we'll show you the way to the Dancing Delight.”
I sat there with nothing to say, when all of a sudden they came up in my way. I saw them and said " Are you the fairy of the Dancing Delight?" They sprinkled magic fairy dust on me and whisked me away into the night. The next thing I knew I was flying in mid air, over the town square, we came to a mountain side, and then they said "Come dance with us and feel the Delight.” I danced and danced underneath the moonlight, all night, I felt the joy and delight, I laid down on the glazing blades of grass,
and slept through the night. When I woke up the next morning, I knew
that that was a fairy Delight.

MY FAIRY DREAM!

Once I was walking down the street on care free feet and I heard a fluttering sound all around and i thought it was my tummy but then i kept hearing it. Now I thought I should go home but then I heard a whisper and it told me look up so I did . In front of me there was a pixie\fairy and I was speechless. I thought just like Violet just all wired now i got knocked with a stone and the pixie said "hello" and i said nothing then it said "i said hello!!!"Well then i said "hi" he said " I am fairy dust " I said "I'm Jessica" then he said I hope we could talk more but I gotta fly. Then I said "NO!~!!" but he was gone. Ever since I had that dream I feel like he will come back some day!~!

by Jessica

When I was a little Pixie not very long ago, I slept in the blueberry trees with goblins, other pixies, gremlins, elves, and dwarfs. The one thing about me was very different from all the rest, was that I was in search of mischief & trouble, but when I got older I grew far from trouble that I turned into a pixie helper to help catch the escaped pixies. To myself I always knew I would grow up to help keep justice and that is what I do.
